Keep Florida Sexy
February is a romantic month! However, some of us are still recovering from the holidays or simply don’t have the budget to go out all the time. Date nights are important, even if it is just with yourself or friends. We asked our community for their suggestions on free or inexpensive date ideas and here is what they said:
Christian Moore: “Open Mike’s WTF Wednesdays: We’ll Make ‘Em Laugh So You Don’t Have To”
Erica Pilgrim: “Cooking a meal together and then playing a board game after. The conversation and laughs make it such a fun date night”
Carrie Jones: “Wayne and I like to go to the dog beach and pick up trash while me meet other people’s dogs!”
Afton Johnson: “Stargazing on the beach at Patrick. Still some light pollution but not like any of the other areas on the beach.”
Lane Mooty-Jones: “We like to scour local Groupon deals for something to do. We also enjoy going to a nature area, hiking, and having a picnic. For that, we love Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, The Enchanted Forest, and Viera Wetlands.”
Lindsey Starr: “Walking around the Exploration Tower/The Port area at night is beautiful. And, Mexico’s Grill is close by for some awesome tacos!”
Leighanna Marie: “Jazz at The Blind Lion in Cocoa Village. Usually no cover with a drink minimum.”
Michelle Randolph: “Bed picnics are a thing! Best done on rainy days. We swing by the grocery store for a pub sub and chips and watch a movie snuggled in.”
William Stallings: “Walk around the park with a camera taking pictures of things.”
Teresa Ruth: “Picnic on the beach around sunset or anytime really, as long as it is not windy. Strolling around Rockledge Gardens to point out all of your dream plants while getting fresh air. Or, my personal new fave is yoga by my pond, or anywhere that brings you peace followed by a delish healthy meal. PS I only date myself so hopefully these apply to couples as well.”
Libby Joy: “Look around the Disney resorts and take advantage of free monorails and ferry rides to the resorts. It’s so fun! Just costs to park.”
Tanya Oneto: “Had a great date at the once a month full moon drum circle off 192 beachside. Brought a blanket and wine… was busy with people but still romantic (and free)!”
Stacy Shank-Mazon: “My most recent fav: cooking a nice meal at home TOGETHER and putting some tunes on and doing a puzzle.”
Ed Hose: “Going to mattress stores and testing out the beds for the perfect snuggle.”
Jeffrey Daniel: “Netflix and chill.”
Connor Elizabeth: “Cannoli from Cerranto’s, Pizza from Bizzarro’s, and a picnic on Boardwalk!”
Hillary Reichert: “Blanket in the back of the truck at sunset by the river with battery operated Christmas lights draped on the truck”
Courtney Stowell: Volunteering at the Humane Society.”
Jamie McCune: “Sebastian Inlet or FIT Botanical Gardens are tow of my faves.”
Kimberly Tucker: “Old Town Kissimmee is free and cool to walk around.”
Lorisa Roberts Hillburn: “Volunteer Together date! Contact the United Way of Brevard for volunteering opportunities in your community. Or try the Humane Society or ASPCA! Giving back makes you feel good and that two people feeling good is never a bad thing.”
